A cookie is a small text file placed on your device (computer, tablet, smartphone) when you visit a website. It allows the site to remember information about your visit (preferences, language, login session, etc.).
This policy details the cookies and other trackers (browser local storage) used by AudiosTranscribe (audiostranscribe.com and app.audiostranscribe.com), in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the recommendations of the CNIL.
AudiosTranscribe positions itself as a privacy-first service. We limit cookies to the operation of the Service and to referrals, described below. We use no advertising cookies, no profiling cookies, and no third-party tracking cookies.
These cookies are essential to the operation of the Service. They cannot be disabled without preventing the use of the site or the application. In accordance with Article 82 of the French Data Protection Act, they do not require prior consent. "app" means app.audiostranscribe.com; "all" means audiostranscribe.com and its subdomains.

audiostranscribe.com website: no audience measurement tool. No analytics cookies, no tracking pixels.
Application: activity measurement (active days, inferred visits and actions taken) is computed server-side from the actions taken in your account, without any cookie or tracker. These internal statistics are never used for advertising and are not shared with third parties.
When you reach the application through a referral link (an address containing ?ref=), the referrer's code is kept so the referral can be recorded when you sign up (60 minutes offered to the referrer and to you after your first transcription):

They are never reused for marketing or advertising and are kept for 30 days at most (ignored after that, deleted as soon as the referral is recorded). They are therefore exempt from consent, as the CNIL cookie FAQ (in French) provides for trackers strictly necessary to a reward service requested through a referral link.
No code is stored if you do not arrive through such a link.
The application also stores a few items in your browser's local storage (localStorage and sessionStorage), never read by a third party:

All the cookies and local storage described in this policy, on the website and in the application, are strictly necessary to the Service, store preferences you choose, or are exempt from consent (referrals, section 5). Neither the website nor the application therefore shows a cookie banner. The audiostranscribe.com website sets no cookie itself: the only ones it may receive are those of the no-sign-up tool.
Previously, an information banner set an at_cookie_consent cookie to remember that it had been closed. That cookie is no longer set or read; if it is still in your browser, it will expire on its own, and you can delete it at any time.
